Lurch
Hello, finally got around to updating the front end... Before... After... What do you think? Also what can I do tyre wise if I were to do another drag event. I'm only bpu but I couldn't pull away without wheel spinning. There not the best tyres on the back at the moment, but I'd like to be able to launch well without spinning. I was only getting 13.4 and my mate with his evo 400bhp was getting 12.4's

Lurch
Any advice about tyres? I wouldn't mind getting a set of standards or 17's and put some nearly drag tyres on or something? Would that be worth it?
Chris Wilson
Get some ultra soft hillclimb or sprint slicks?
Lurch
Thanks Chris, Would they work better on 18's or 17's? Where/what make would I need? Edited August 10, 2011 by Lurch (see edit history)
Chris Wilson
There's probably a much bigger range of compounds and sizes in 18 inch, you would have to ring some tyre suppliers. Google racing slicks and some makers names. They'll be quite expensive, as with all good tyres.
Lurch
Thanks Chris. Ill have a look, not worried if there expensive as i can keep them for the odd drag days and track days
Chris Wilson
A hillclimb or sprint compound slick would be useless for track days, far too soft. You need a REALLY hard compound on something as heavy as a MKIV for track day usage. Plus most track days demand a proper roll cage if running slicks. Lurch
Ok, so just decent road legal tyres (r888's) for track days and the soft compound tyres for the odd drag days
