Or do they spread it across both channels so you have to buy both? Also is it worth getting the 1Tb box for use with HD or does the free standard box suffice? Have a sinking feeling that after avoiding paying for Sky and missing out for the last 4 years, Man Utd will now be crap and I'll have to endure watching them lose all year long. ozz Posted August 7, 2011 Share Posted August 7, 2011 I'm pretty sure you need a phone line for installation so they can activate. I just ran a cable then disconnected it afterwards. IIRC the contract says something about having the line connected for the 12 months, I think you could pay extra for standalone, can depend on the engineer too. miles Posted August 7, 2011 Share Posted August 7, 2011 they say you have to have it connected for 12 months but the eng said just have it in for the installation and the first call back to sky. They sometimes send you a letter saying your phone line is not connected so all you need to do is connect it up again so it does a callback to sky then you can unplug it again Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
