AMG
Just thinking, that was a bit harsh lol. It might not be goosed, it might just be a line has split/disconnected. It most likely won't be the pressure tank as I think that when it is fooked the 2nd tubby will still come online... it'll just be a lot later. It's been a while since I went through all this stuff though. Its all good mate. I have learnt a lot more than i thought i would about the system. Any opinions nd comments are always good. Ian C
Have a read through here if you haven't already: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35926-The-sequential-system Sounds like you have problem number 1. You can try the tinfoil strip trick to see if the IACV is opening or not. Fold up a bit of tinfoil into a thin strip (think squashed rollup cigarette size) and trap one end between the actuator and the stop of the IACV. Go for a drive. If the tinfoil strip is still there after the drive, it didn't open up
AMG
Thanks Ian. I will give that a go at the weekend.
Chris Wilson
Half the sequential vac / pressure plumbing issues I sort out are caused by schonkky silicone hoses that have to be secured with tie wraps. Proper new "black rubber" hoses that are a proper tight push on fit, and don't have a propensity to split from the ends inwards, like bling silicone, are what you want. Show me a proper factory race engine with silicone vac / pressure hoses for air, apart from proper braided stuff for the intercooler. AMG
I will take that on board and replace all my hoses i think then Chris. There are only a couple of silicone ones but its worth the reassurance.
AMG
Thanks for all the help everyone I have finally sorted it. It ended up being a very hard and brittle vac line going to the egcv. All sorted but not before finding a IACV and a egbv in a box of spares in my garage I think I will look into the ettc mode now then.

jimwire
Are you replacing it with a stock one? I want to replace my old hoses but want to use the right stuff. Is there a list with part no's anywhere on here (I have searched) or failing that what would people recommend?
AMG
For now I got some 5mm diameter vacuum hose from halfords which fit perfect and nice and tight. I think I will try and replace them all with new Toyota pipes though. Did you say you had an intermittent problem with boost?
jimwire
Yes. I have traced it to the electrical connectors to the IACV and EGCV. got them ordered. Also got a full set of vsv's in case. I'll be checking all the hoses though as well.
