Nic
Has anyone painted or printed the lettering on the plastic engine cover. I'm looking for a method of colouring the top surface of the raised lettering. How about roller/pad/foil printing the raised letters, anyone tried this or have any bright ideas. The ideal effect I'm looking for is a silver leaf type reflective finish, is fake silver leaf film available commercially?
SilverMachine
Nic, How about spraying it silver first, then your desired colour over the top. Then you can cut the top layer of paint back over the lettering to reveal the silver! Shall I get my coat? Gaz

Gaz Yes I'd thought of doing this but then masking off the letters but would work with process used. The finish is VERY hard so no chance of cutting back the carbon layer. Yeah I was lucky getting a low mileage engine. Rob said it's only done 30 odd K miles. I just hope to God it's alright after sitting in that car breakers for the best part of a year.
