Si_s Supe
As mentioned in another thread, I bought a 2nd Decat a while back and have been keeping my eye out for a 3" 1st Decat but then this all in one Decat pipe came up from a mate who bought it for his single without realizing it wasn't v banded!! Anyway, I offered it up against the Decat I've already got and it seems to follow a different route! Any ideas? Also has a sensor hole that the 2nd Decat doesn't have. I know it came from America and is really nicely made but are the US exhausts different to j specs??
TRD DAN
If it's for a UK spec ? Then the flange that bolts to the turbo is different I belieave ? Dan
tony tt
Yeah as above the flange on the uk decat is bigger than the j-spec. All in one decat pipe? Not sure what the longer one is off at all. Sensor hole could be for en egt guage probe or afr 02 sensor probe. It doesnt look right at all. It's not an N/A decat is it?
Si_s Supe
Right, thanks guys. I'll check the flange later and see if it's right. At the moment though, it looks like I'll be getting a refund off my mate. That is always the downside of buying from mates, it can be a problem when it all goes Pete Tong!! tony tt
Do you have the first decat already? The shiney one just looks all wrong mate.
Si_s Supe
No I haven't. I did buy one 2nd hand off the forum but it's the most shonky looking thing you've ever seen so needless to say it's not going anywhere near my car!
SimonB
If he bought it for a single then it would be different since the turbo is in a completely different place. It would only fit the particular turbo/manifold/pipework that it was designed for.
Scott
The shiney one is a double decat... all in one
Si_s Supe
The shiney one is a double decat... all in one So you think it's right?? It is meant to be an all in one double Decat but looking at the straight section on the two pipes they're running at different angles!? It's a Megan Racing pipe. mr lover
the 3 hole flange will be too big for sure, if it came from america
Chris Wilson
Wrong flange at the turbo elbow end, it's for UK / European engines, not Jap spec, probably won't fit a RHD car anyway.
Si_s Supe
Balls!! Back to the drawing board then. Hopefully he'll give me my money back.
Scott
Looks ok to me. If you look at the non shiney one, you will see the end of it angles to make it the same degree as the shiney one. It's just taking a slightly less direct route. Pretty sure it will be fine, there is a bit of wiggle room where the decats go anyway as the cats are quite large. JODY T
I have a uk spec double Decat on my vvti, obviously it didn't fit but I took my old cat and the pipe to a fabricator and they cut the flags off and welded the correct one, cost me 60 quid.. Fits just fine now
