Chris Wilson
What's wrong with the stock one? I have Bosch Motorsport ones in stock, but they are pricey.
dr_jekyll
i want to up the fuel pressure a little just to squeeze a bit more through the injectors without using too much duty cycle
Chris Wilson
http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/content/language2/html/2829.htm You need the alloy holder as well as one of the regs. They are dear but it is a VERY important item, if the pressure drifts it upsets the map out of closed loop.
dr_jekyll
id love one of those but my bugit for the rest of the season is thin. ive heard the aeromotive , sard and tomei are reliable. what do you think of them ?
Chris Wilson
I think Tomei stuff is very good. If you have a spare stock FPR you could try an old trick I used years ago, in series where you had to leave the ecu stock, but wanted to richen the engine up (pre closed loop wideband stuff). You can sometimes crush the top capsule with the spring in it in a vice, sometimes using sockets to apply the compression. If you do it a bit at a time and test it you can raise the fuel pressure of a seemingly stock and sealed FPR at zero cost. NISMO ones are very good and have AN6 fitting tails: http://www.sumopower.com/product/view/3400

Chris Wilson
Not at all, I have done some simply dreadful things when money is tight. It's a perfectly legitimate mod, in many early saloon car series if you DIDN'T do it you were slow
Chris Wilson
I have never weighed it up but I know people drill the top of stock Nissan regulators and silver solder a nut on, and use a bolt and locknut to adjust the spring pressure, and hence the fuel rail pressure. You would need to careful not to kill the diaphragm with the heat though, maybe doing it partly submersed in water? Have a close look at the Nismo one I linked to above. The top of the spring would have to abut a washer or something though, not just the shell of the regulator, You might have to sacrifice one and cut it open to have a weigh up. Paul R
I've got an FPR - not sure of the make. i'll have a look later and see if I can see what it is. you'll need a guage to set it up though. Paul.
