Josh
My girlfriend is looking to upgrade and move away from her Ka. She likes the 207cc, but it's a bit too expensive at the moment. She was also thinking about a Tigra. So does anyone have a partner (only if you trust them with car knowledge) with a decent girly car that's preferably a convertible (doesn't matter if not), has a 1.6 or less, is good on fuel, is safe and has a bit of power (anything over a Ka's power)? Any help is once again, much appreciated P.s. It's not for me, honestly.
Guigsy
Mx5 surely?
Attero
My eyes melt when I see a Tigra. My girlfriends mum wants one, but I'm afraid that if she'll get one, I will have to break up with her daughter. It's just that awful Josh...
Westcoaster
My missus has a nice tidy low mileage CRX Del Sol SiR, very nice to drive and reasonably rapid. 1.6 litres and 160 bhp. Very reliable too compared with a Vauxhall or Peugeot.
Gaz6002
MX5 every time. You also get the bonus that she (might) learn to drive properly too
Attero
Yes, MX5 is the way forward. Despite being a hairdressers car, they are also quite fun for men too in case you needed to temporarily borrow her car.
Abz
MX5 without a doubt! Or the MR2 Convertible.
Josh
MX5 every time. You also get the bonus that she (might) learn to drive properly too She read that too, lol I agree though! I've been saying MX5. I was looking to get one as a runaround. Got ripped for being a hairdresser on here

TheTurtleshead
People who rinse them for being hairdressers cars clearly have never driven one! The mk1 Mx5's are fantastic drivers cars, very sideways in the wet and...dare i say it, more fun on a twisty country road than a supra?! We have two A 1.6 and a 1.8, get a 1.6 for insurance reasons and if you like things to rev, 1.8 if you prefer a bit more grownup torque If shes going to do many motorway miles, its worth going for a later one with the higher gearing/6 speed box. The mk2 or current mk3's are all great cars, and will do 35 to the gallon on a run Gotta be the mk1 for pure unadulterated fun though! Oh yeah and you get pop up headlights... Attero
I'm not afraid to say I would have an MX5. They are great for autotesting and track days.
Havard
MX5 has to be a serious consideration. MR2's are seriously cheap these days too. What is your budget? H.
Josh
Cheers so far chaps. Looks like the MX5 is winning!

Havard
It's a 1.8 but I would think a girly would like this. Seeing that you didn't give a budget I thought I would make one up. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3043122.htm H.

"It's just not gonna happen" is what she said in regards to that car There's no budget, she'll get it on finance so whatever they'll give her. If we win the lottery she would have an R8 Spyder, but for now, up to about £10k.

SupraDan24
Ok. Stop f*cking about and get an MX5 then. H. He needs to have his obligatory 6 months making up his mind period first H. Guigsy
I'd have a mx5. I drove one for a day. I wasn't overly keen on the interior but it was ok. But being 6'3" it felt like a clown car and with size 13 feet the footwell was a bit cramped so I wouldnt be confident about getting it sideways as I didn't have much room to move!
