Dan_Turism0
personally i'd recommend the SGS2 imo no other phone on the market is near it
Abz
I'd recommend you have a play with a few at carphone warehouse. Some of the HTC's are pretty good, depending on what you like, or the iPhone 4.
Westy
I have the iPhone 4 and can't fault it...
Lbm
In true sad fashion I've had a quite few speed battles between my gf's Iphone 3 and the already mentioned Samsung Galaxy S2. Out of the two, mine is best Do what Abz has suggested though, and nip into a shop and have a fondle. Then after that, you could always try a few phones out. RobD
Same boat, got a month or two to go before I upgrade ( 3GS here to) I'm quite tempted to wait and see if the iPhone 5 makes an appearance before Xmas

That makes 3 of us then! I also have a 3GS! It's a great phone, so waiting to see what the iPhone 5 has to offer then compare it to the market. Rumour is that it will be released in September Clicky
l33wgn
i heard the september rumour as well but the people i spoke to at orange keep telling me it wont be this year, i forgot to mention that my company gets company phones although ive kept my contract i get a company phone anyway ( which might well be an iphone 5 )
neo2810
Apple only give their distributors minimal notice so it could be September. It makes sense for them to launch in sept provided it's ready.
Gaz6002
I'm quite happy with the Blackberry Torch. Seems to do everything I need it to do better than my iPod touch, which is all I need to know about iPhones.
RobD
When I got my 3GS the lad serving me said that the iPhone 4 wasn't going to be released that year, so opted for a 3GS, 2 weeks later the iPhone 4 gets released, wasn't to pleased! So I'm going to wait it out and leave it right till the last minute this time

Attero
I have a HTC Sensation, it beats any iPhone hands down. Absolutely brilliant phone. The S2 is supposedly a little bit better but I haven't tried it.
neo2810
I have a HTC Sensation, it beats any iPhone hands down. Absolutely brilliant phone. The S2 is supposedly a little bit better but I haven't tried it. I disagree... The Retina Display of the iPhone 4 and the AMOLED of the Galaxy S2 are streets ahead of HTC's so it's not a hands down victory However, in almost every other department the Sensation tops the iPhone I'll agree. Saying that, the Sensation is only 2 months old and if the iPhone 5 comes out in September it will be that comparison you have to make as the 4 is over a year old now. So essentially you're comparing a 4th gen phone with a 5th gen. Attero
The amoled screen is something that I would like but as you said, everything else is superior in many ways. I find the iphone to be a social status. It seems to impress most untechnical people. Fair enough if its all they need, buy i got bored of my iPhone very quickly. There were just so many more phones offering so much more.

There were just so many more phones offering so much more. For Joe Bloggs sure, but if you were a techy you'd know how to make the most out of the iPhone. Anyway the iPhone interface has been dumbed down for the masses, people don't want hundreds of options they just want simple easy to use GUI's with straight to the point options. Though you do have a point about it being a fashion accessory, I still have my 2G iPhone which I got when it came out. Only techy people had it then as it was a revoultion in the mobile design, it offered so much more than a phone. Though finally other makers of phones have catches up, though the only serious competition are the HTC's. Shame the build quality isn't on par with the Apple products. Attero
Restrictions like? The S II does seem pretty good, if a little too big like the Omina 7. Like not being open for apps. I know it brings security, but there are better ways of doing things. Shame on apple, the money grabbing pigs richer than the US itself.
