Lbm
Bad luck on the car Josh, though at least you're maintaining a positive mental drinking attitude
Havard
Jesus Josh, you don't muck around when a car lets you down. H.
Josh
Jesus Josh, you don't muck around when a car lets you down. H. If it was my Supra, I'd have cried like a baby and done anything to make her well. As it was a crappy Fiesta, it went in the bin. I gave it a boot to make sure she was a gonner
Dnk
With a bit of cunning thinking you could have got the car back foc A cam kit is £85 so a bit of easy spannering and say another £50 in parts and your £800 car would be sorted. Would have been good practice for when you take on more serious jobs on your supra

If it had have happened close to home and I wasn't off on holiday then I'd have certainly changed the engine. As it was, that was really the best option. Probably not the best way to think but it's only 2 weeks' wages I've lost. Not so bad.
Tyson
When looking for a daily I read loads of reviews which said to steer clear of the 1.3's and get one with a 1.25 Duratec. Moral of the story is to do some research before you buy I spent 350 on my astra and have already done 800 miles in it already and touch wood it hasn't missed a beat. I would have taken it home and fixed it but each to there own.

The 1.25 is a Zetec, not Duratec in case anyone wants to do the same as you. The 1.3 is known as an Endura engine. Duratec engines came later IIRC. It's all okay though as I think my Dad's uncle is about to give up driving so I might get his '03 reg Fiesta, hopefully for free. If I'd have used my Supra every day to drive to work instead of the Fiesta, I'd have used £500 of fuel anyway. It's all okay
