supradibbs
Hey guys. Ok need some input here, i have a 2004 1.8T A4 and its been having battery issues for about 6 weeks but has gotten worse last 2 weeks i.e its every morning the battery is dead. I have had the battery tested no issues were found, the car will start from a jump no problem. Going to start today run a draw down check, basically stick a meter accross the battery and look for a draw and start pulling fuses. Anyone know of any common issues? Havard
Alternator is goosed Depends on whether you drive it at night or have much drain on the battery. Have you charged the battery fully when it has been dead? Are you making short journeys after you have jumped it? I would bet on an alarm fault. H. Dnk
I had this a few weeks ago on a Volvo i was selling, had the battery checked and it was apparently okay so i charged it up and checked for drains, alternator etc etc and couldnt fnd anything wrong. It was still losing its charge everyday so i thought i'd try a new battery and its now fine.
supradibbs
I was thinking alarm, i have my doubts its the alternator as the battery wont die when am using the car just when its left over night, drove the car last week for a good 100 miles and it was fine.
