jayl
ok cool thanks so im guessing gte is the tt aerotop im looking at one later which sounds to be in good order
ripped_fear
GTE just refers to the engine so it would mean that it came out of the factory with a twin turbo lump in it. It does not refer to the aero part.
jayl
ok yeah makes sense but if the vin plate is showing its a tt then it would be a tt aerotop or that would mean someone has changed the plate which would make it a ringer would it not lol

marc_p
ok yeah makes sense but if the vin plate is showing its a tt then it would be a tt aerotop or that would mean someone has changed the plate which would make it a ringer would it not lol No, you can change the VIN plate as long as the chassis number doesn't change, you can buy OEM VIN plates for engraving. I always wanted a facelift TT6 Aerotop, but as these are non existent, I got a donor facelift TT6 and a Facelift Aero and had EVERYTHING swapped over, I am now going to change the details with the DVLA and have a new VIN plate made up to show this. jayl
ok thats makes sense too but im guessing also that the numbers on the plate and logbook would show the real tt aerotop ?
