j_jza80
I've got a couple of mates with supras, Ash and Emma (NA-T and Twin-turbo i think) and wuwsupra, think his is twin turbo also. I'm already badgering Emma and Ash for a go in theres (Hint HINT!! the only problem is, that even a N/A is a major performance upgrade for me. going from a 1.2 turbo to a 3.0 is a big difference, even with being used to a 4.2 patrol (AKA Tank) if its a supra with Turbo(s)!! would be a dream come true (believe it or not) its the feeling of having a large engine under the bonnet and all that extra power when you need it, not having to worry about getting the gears right to get up a small hill etc (something i like with the patrol) I shall Continue bugging them Till they give in Tbh, you should get on fine with an NA, so long as you take your time getting used to it. I wouldn't recommend a TT as your first RWD car! It may be a good idea to get something like an MX5 for a few months, getting valuable RWD experience and perhaps a few track days, before progressing to a Supra. I had an S14a 200sx for 6 months before I got my first Supra (a bpu, uk spec TT auto) and it was fantastic for learning RWD in. I used to spend many nights in a local (empty!) airfield/ industrial estate drifting, doughnutting, figure of 8s etc and generally learning how to drive beyond the limits of grip. From what I read on here, many accidents seem to happen due to owners not knowing how to react when they loose traction, or generally being unsympathetic with the car in the first place. Guest ClioSXT
Welcome fella - it's great to hear that you are really interested! We get a lot of 'innit, fackin, sweet, our kid' around here. Having said that, our kid is still thinking about it........ Pics of the clio? Ive posted pics of the clio in the "Off topic Section" but hears a teaser pic ... Please note, there are now 25mm spacers on each rear axel. i think ill be looking mostly for a N/A auto (manual if i can find a nice one), Im used to RWD, as the patrol is RWD. so I'm not in a way scared of driving a high powered RWD car (and yes, it can get its Ars* out when it wants). As I'm not exactly a speed freak (Kinda lazy tbh as I'm used to thinking about MPG with the patrols Biblical drinking habits) and i dont intend to track racing with it. But i do agree that getting as much experience will prove valuable (Even if not intending to do racing)
