d-_-b
My car hasn't long ago had a full oil change, so the oil which is in the car really isn't that old. I have an oil filter sandwich plate which I want to install but the question is can I fit it without draining out all the oil from the car - more to the point I guess, can I remove the oil filter and not have loads of oil pour out (am aware there will obv be oil in the filter which I would loose) but is it possible to install the plate, refit a new filter then top up the oil? Am aware yes, would have been much better to do the sandwich plate at the same time as the oil change but there was a couple of months between the 2 > Many thanks guys
pedrosixfour
b;3171823']is it possible to install the plate' date=' refit a new filter then top up the oil?[/quote'] Yes. It really makes no difference whether the sump is full or empty, you'll only lose whats in the filter housing plus whats in the filter obviously. marc_p
b;3172619']Should I be prepared for a lot or a little to come from the housing? A fair bit, when you unscrew it, expect about a full mugs worth of oil to empty itself out.
