stevie_b
Yes, because the "!" was part of the quote. The "." after the quote signalled the end of the sentence. I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that. The exclamation mark finishes the sentance. Have a look at any novel by a British author.
Josh
I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that. The exclamation mark finishes the sentance. Have a look at any novel by a British author. But then the quotation mark will be outside of the sentence. I was under the impression it needed a full stop at the end of quote to end the sentence. This is primary school stuff, you don't need to use a full stop after inverted commas, that's as bad as me finishing a sentence like this,!. Go back to school. Chris Wilson
These early morning masochistic flagellations must stop, unless they are done as part of your religion as a Catholic ritual of course. If Branners finds out what you are up to he'll see it as bringing the forum into disrepute and ban you Or maybe he'll want a go himself, who knows? Does much of a crowd gather to see this? I think Stevie_b's avatar should be changed to the blue 'now panic and freak out'. It would be more appropriate to the situation. Impressed with the use of big words Chris. I wouldn't take such risks in a thread now primarily about poor spelling.
