fruity_south
i did a search and came up with this thread. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?11992-quick-flashing-indicators-... iv done pretty much the same thing as them but in the front fog light holders instead of the side lights like them. Now i can understand how the smaller bulms would cause this to happen but am a little confused on how to stop it. this whole resister thing is a bit confusing to me. can some one help please. mellonman
The bulb flashes quicker because there is less resistance on the circuit. so it can complete the cycle quicker. try a small resistor
fruity_south
cheers but i dont know where it would go and if it would require one each side or just on one.
merckx
There are 2 wires that go to each bulb, fit a resistor inline on either wire, do this on both sides of the car. What's the wattage of the old bulb and it's replacement?
fruity_south
so 4 resisters? im not sure ill check when i get in this evening and post it up.
fruity_south
i have been told by someone at work that my 501 bulbs could well be 5watt and that to stop it flasshing so fast i need to use a 21 watt bulb. im aware that there are the 380 bulbs but not sure if these would fit in the 501 holder. Wez
You can just get the correct rating bulbs to solve the issue, I had to when I moved mine into the main front lights
mellonman
it would be one resistor per lamp it doesnt matter what side of the lamp it goes on it is just compensating for the watt differance
fruity_south
Wez could you forward me a link to the bulbs please mate as i have searched high and low for them and cant find them .
merckx
so 4 resisters? One resistor wired into each indicator bulb, I meant it didn't matter which of the 2 wires for each bulb it was wired into. Obviously easier to get the correct wattage bulbs if you can.
