jimsup
Hi everyone, I have recently had my drivers side rear caliper sieze on me....the part i need is in the picture i have provided but have no idea what it is called, where i can get it, or how much they cost.....any help in this matter will be gratefully received!!! its the small piston part that is seized, did get it apart but extremely rusty so will need a new one/ or second hand part if anyone has one sitting in their garage also is it worth replacing both sides rather than one?? many thanks Jim
Supra-Brett
thats the slider, they always rust and sieze. If i recall correctly from when i refurbed mine, one slider is shorter than the other? Dont think you can buy a seperate part, im sure its a whole replacement caliper that you will need, but i may be wrong. A guy on here found a place selling genuine brand new calipers for a fraction of what they are from Toyota. I saved the web link BUT, my hardrive crashed and ive had to replace it so i no longer have the link. I recall a new JSpec front caliper was about £70 from this particular place, which is a fraction of what they cost from Toyota, so a rear would have been somewhat less than that. If you can find a replacement slider (maybe someone on here has one) you will also need a new seal kit. Nick (import pimp) sells these cheap but there is a few weeks delay RE postage. Im sure someone on here will be able to advise further
jimsup
Hi mate, I bought "rear calipers" from auto gap spares....but when they arrived it was just the calipers with the main piston not the 'slider' parts so hoping they are sold separately! I will have a search for caliper slider and see what I come up with Cheers buddy!!
supra steveo
put heat on where the slider bar sits and wiggle the bugger out , ive had to do it before , twice actually, first time i twisted the slider .
Supra Gaz
Try Keron (extreme performamnce) the trader on here, he will most probably have that part in

Chris Wilson
I may have a complete, greased up drivers side rear J-Spec slider, want me to look?
jackso11
get it out anyway you can, then just drill out the inside with a masonary drill bit. It will only drill out the rusted crud, then clean out all the dust and grease it up. Might be worth putting a new pin in it which is only a couple of quid from toyota. Dan_Turism0
if the slider is stuck then it's likely the rubber boot has split, I refurbed mine on my old car which uses the exact same setup as the JSpec Supra brakes for about £30 new parts direct from Toyota
