mrmyagiii
When i go full throttle the boost builds up nicely till ~1.0 bar. From there till 1.2 it feels like very strong gusts of wind hit my car, a bit like its holding back. Is this fuel cut or something else? From what i have read there should also be an engine light that would come up with fuel cut but that doesn`t happen..
T2 MSW
Its not fuel cut. You will know when its fuel cut as it feels like your head is going to go through the wind shield. Also as you say the large warning triangle in the centre of the dash will also light up when fuel cut kicks in.
mrmyagiii
Thnx for the quick reply, any other directions where i should look at? boost is holding so no leaks there.
sideexitsupra
Do you have any sort of traction control? Might be lighting up the back wheels?
Bossco
Sounds like the car is misfiring to me. Coil pack failing?
Nic
Sounds like the car is misfiring to me. Coil pack failing? It's not fuel cut, when the ECU cuts the fuel >1.0bar you lose ALL power. Sounds like the car is misfiring at higher boost levels, the usual causes of this are either the wrong heat range spark plugs or knackered coil pack connectors. SteveC
Fuel supply not matching demand at higher boost levels - fuel pump perhaps?
mrmyagiii
Haven`t checked coil packs, plugs could do with replacement i guess. Its not traction control, no lights that indicate that and feels different. Any easy method for checking it its the fuel pump that is keeping me down? Or just the easy way replace it with a walbro one to make sure that aint it?
Homer
Have you done all the BPU mods? If not you shouldn't be running 1.2 bar Check your grade of plugs and coil pack connectors (not the packs themselves, thats further down the line if everything else is ruled out)
mrmyagiii
Yep all exept first cat removal, boost controller still on "off". Planning on removing 1st cat soon though. well mostly its 1-1.1bar ish depending on the temperature outside. Will get some new plugs and check connectors.
