Removing decal adhesive from plastic?

Any tips? Ive tried petrol and cellulose thinners but no joy :( First time Ive had this problem cant even sand it off as its soft to the touch and just rolls up. Any more serious chemicals or suggestions?

 

Doesnt matter if it effects the paint as its getting re painted.

I'd go easy with acetone and meths as they could react with the plastic.

I've always got this type of thing off with plain white spirit, very little chance of shagging the plastic too.

Leave it on for a minute to soak.

Nightmare innit? When I took the nasty mirror film off my rear window the only thing that would shift the adhesive was aerosol brake cleaner. I unsucessfully tried all the above mentioned things before I discovered that brake cleaner worked. Even then it was a PITA but mostly because the inside of the rear window is difficult to get to
