matta3823
Hi, my supra had just failed the mot because the nearside rear upper suspension arm rubber bush has worn resulting in excessive play. They want to charge me £364 +vat for a new arm but am i correct in thinking the bush can be replaced? Sorry to sound thick but your help would be greatfully appreciated
gavin.starr
In my own personal opinion i would just change all of the rear arm like sugested by your garage. Unfortunatly these parts arent cheap. i had to change them all over on the rears resulting in me forking out over a grand for parts. Dont forget that they will be putting there labour charge on top of that price to carry out the work. If you want to go down the route of rebushing the arms there are kits out there to do it, but its quite a pig of a job to do if you dont have the correct tools. Ie; the metal bush housing is a real PITA to press out of the arms unless you have some good equipment to do it. I would also get in touch with Paul ( garage whifbitz) on here as he sells the arms alot cheaper than quoted above as his prices include VAT. http://whifbitzperformancetuning.co.uk/toyota-supra-supra-suspension-parts-suspension-arms-track-rods-toyota-p-1547.html Gav
Dnk
The rear upper arm is the most expensive on the suspension, there not just plain bushes on them either but a few people replace them with plain bushes but no idea if there any good or not A few weeks ago they were Retail £430.61 inc vat from Toyota, with discount £344.48 inc vat There was a complete set of the arms forsale the other day on here that had only done very low mileage according to the advert and were i think £1200 for the lot which is cheap.
