Active spoiler manual switch.

Hi,

Is it possible to put a switch on the 12v feed to the active spoiler to stop it from going up when you switch the ignition on? thought it would be a cheap way of putting it on?

Mine doesnt seem to come down until you hit over 95 leptons!

AFAIK, you can put it in the "down" position then remove a fuse (or something like that) to stop it being "active".

Yeah, i'm wondering if the 12v feed or signal to lower/raise the spoiler is in the cabin/behind dash somewhere. So I could splice in, put a switch on it and keep it down from starting the car up.....then if I came accross a speed hump or something I could flick the switch and it would retract.

I had the lip down all the time by pulling the fuse, but I've now got the garfy controller so I can raise and lower it when I need to. Put up a wanted thread for one, I know they are quite hard to come by now tho.

It is possible to make the active spoiler completely controllably manually with a couple of relays from your local halfords/motormania and a toggle switch. Have a search through here and you'll find a wiring diagram which shows you how to make your own, I got my dad to make me it up in his spare time following the diagram, however he did say the diagram is incorrect and he altered mine to make it work.

If you can find the diagram, I'll get my dad to have a look over it and correct it, that way people can make there own in the future :)

Myy car has some sort of manual controller way before the "garfy" controller came into being. Fairly sure it is as simple as you make it sound, total cost is probably less than GBP5. If your dad can demystify the workings of the controller then I am sure a lot of owners will be extremely appreciative.
