Wez
Hey All, A mate has a Lexus IS200 which doesnt appear to be running as it should, its also failed the MOT on emissions It started life as a stock IS200, it was then fitted with a TTE Supercharger along with TTE voltage clamp to prevent fuel cut, the car ran fine at this point, HKS FCON VPro and Uprated injectors were then fitted and mapped and again the car ran fine. The HKS FCON VPro and uprated injectors were removed and a HKS FCD fitted, since then its not running right, there is black smoke when floored but in general its running OK ish. I think it might be over fueling due to the HKS FCD. Is it possible to bypass the charger and FCD to check how the car runs then? Thanks

Chris Wilson
I doubt you can bypass the charger unless it already has a clutch and bypass system like some Mercdes. Can't you just measure the signal voltage in and out of the FCD relative to ground. to see what it is, or isn't doing?
Wez
Sorted this yesterday, I borrowed Ryans wideband and it was running 10.9 on idle and was running 11.5 for normal driving Searching around there was no fuel controller only a basic FCD, a quick test of unplugging the stock AFR probe made no difference, we were then able to trace it back to some wires that had been chopped by the ECU, turned out to be the O2 feed, once reconnected it idled at 14.7 to 15 where it should be. He needs to get an MOT so we left it that, we will check fueling on boost in the week and I will hook up the det cans, he knows not to boot it until we have checked it. As it has no fuel controller the only thing I can think of is they bodged it by cutting the O2 feedback so it ran rich when on boost, proper yeehaawww style, he has no comeback though as they are now out of business.
