JamieP
Yes mate, you need to machine the top of them flat though.
hodge
Yes mate, you need to machine the top of them flat though. I'm liking the sound of this Jamie. I could get them machined at work no problem. I'm looking to do a built engine if all goes well over the winter. I've got a spare block in the shed. I'd be prepared to give 1 of these a go. Guest ugp
I've got one of these (not identical, but same idea) on the busa, great piece of kit.
Ricky49
Don't you get ARP bolts included so works out about the same between the billet mains and girdle. I only bought a spare engine so I can build one up and still be able to drive mine
dude
So Billet mains and a girdle must be even better !!!!!

JamieP
So Billet mains and a girdle must be even better !!!!! Nobody has ever broke a billet main so id not bother myself, the gridle is about ease of fitting and saving on maching costs.

Quite happy with the company who did mine, car must have over 80 dyno pulls and the mains look like brand new. Girdles have been used for years and TBH $750 for that is a complete rip, ok it includes studs but take that to any machine shop and they would copy it and sell em to you for a fraction of the cost, the maching for the stock main caps will still need doing well and i dont see that as a replacement for billet mains, more a second best. Its not about breaking its about flex limitation, hence why the yanks fill their hi HP blocks with resin or concrete;)
