Ebay Non Payer - Any Experience?

AlexJames

Recommended Posts

Iv just sold my motorbike on ebay.

This one guy pushed the price up and up above everyone else, and now hes won, he messages me and tells me I live to far away so he cant pay. (he lives 3 hours away from me in Dorset)

Iv called ebay and they say that he is contractually obliged and I can make him pay.

Has anyone else had experience with this... this is soo freakin annoying. :complain:

The only thing you can do is open a non paying bidder dispute against him, that way you wont pay any listing and final value fees, but apart form that you cant really do much more.

We had exactly the same happen recently and I had a rant as well

Just so you know, EBay will still try and charge you for Ad, I had a very long argument with some foriener about it, if you can be bothered to read my long Rant it explains better

It's still not sorted yet

Just get your fees back, re list it, and make sure to block the bidder so he cant bid on it again, thats what i did

Give up on eBay, I had the same with a rollcage I was selling. After the 3rd relist (1st wouldn't organise his own courier or collect even though auction stated it. 2nd wouldn't so I organised via Shipley and he said too expensive, 3rd one just didn't pay or respond.) I decided to give up on eBay

As you can't leave negative feedback for buyers and there's so much buyer bias now in eBay it's beyond a joke.

I think with ebay if you are buying something or bidding on something that firstly ebay should check via paypal the funds are available and if you are bidding on an item then the funds are electronically taken/ put to one side so you cant change your mind after the auction ends

Thanks for your comments guys, and yeah DodgyRog I remember that thread of yours. Its a total PITA to be honest. I just want the bike sold, now I have to wait ages to re-list again. But, your comments are helpful. I have a few more days to scare the life out of him with legal action comments and such.

All he has replied is, sorry, 'I dont have the money to pay for it'. If thats the case then why bid! grr

Sounds like its best to just re-list. I do have his address though! ... oh so tempting to be bad! ;)
