Scott
I think so, I can't be sure of what would actually be required though.
Steve
The stock traction control closes that 2nd butterfly to reduce power which in my opinion can be dangerous. Imagine trying to pull away at a roundabout and losing all power with a lorry coming at you..... Aftermarket traction control systems such as Racelogic or the system built into the Syvecs ECU either cut the fuel injectors or cut the ignition so you don't lose all power like the stock setup. So if you have that 2nd butterfly or not doesn't matter with an aftermarket system.
Chris Wilson
There are far better aftermarket traction control systems than the stock setup, which is pretty much "I see wheel spin, I'll kill the engine dead for a few seconds" . Using the throttle butterfly is how the stock system works, most after market ones cut injectors in a sequence.

Swampy442
I can however vouch for this system in the snow. If anyone has been to Lincoln before and climbed the hill towards the Cathederal they will know how steep it is. In my Aristo just nailed the throttle and ascended with no worries. In a snap traction control scenario it may be different but in prolonged throttle situations I personally cant fault it.

I must say that the TC in my car is miles better than pre-facelift...... as I found out first hand I found that the pre-facelift TC only activates in the smell of pant pooping. Swampy442
Think the Aristo system is different mate, as the brakes act as well. You have to bear in mind this shizzle was designed in the 80s and was implemented in the early 90s, wont be as precise as modern systems
Scott
I think the components are the same in the facelift/pre-facelift side of things. I think the only difference is software/ecu related. But there is a fiar difference. Also there is a "snow mode" in the facelift cars which isn't on the pre-facelift cars.
