Ok I own supraturbochris old auto supra. The problem is on second turbo I have a missfire which pops and bangs through the exhaust . If you keep it nailed during this it backfires quite loud like you was hitting rev limitter. I have had new coil packs ( super spark ) new clips new plugs ( bkr8eix ) and recently fitted new o2 sensor as well. It is building boost ok and boost level normal.I have checked all vaccum hoses seem all good. Any ideas guys as anyone that had this problem knows how frustrating it is.

What boost is it running? You need grade 7 plugs if your running BPU(1.2 bar). From your description it sounds a bit like fuel cut, do you know if it has a fuel cut defencer fitted?

Hi I am running 1.4 bar as I have reworked turbos with steel internals. Doesn't do it as bad when I turn down the boost. Haven't checked fcd but I believe it has got one.

Have you got an uprated fuel pump? Any uprated injectors/engine management etc?

Have you checked for any fault codes?

It has uprated fuel pump but no injectors or engine management . Has been running fine with the setup for long time .
