kirvis
ive got my new supra a week ago and since ive realized that the revs bit unstable on idle, when the car warm it shows about 1100 rpm, sometimes 1000. then when i swiths the engine off and start it up straight away then the revs stays as about 600 rpm, but once i touch the pedal it idles at 1100 rpm again. so i looked at the engine today and realized that the MAF is missing as the previous owner fitted so stupid rusty aftermarket air filter, and instead the maf its sime plastic pipe. ive tried to find the connector for the maf, but unlucky as well. so the question is could it be that the revs unstable because the MAF is missing? and where could i find the connector? thanks:(
EMPEROR
Ummm... your Supe is Jspec right? It shouldn't have MAF by default... I think... Better check the ICV...

Homer
The TT VVTi's have a MAF, the TT non-VVTi's don't. NA's I can't remember Which one is yours? Unstable idle is normally an issue with the idle control valve (ICV)
kirvis
Its n/a
Homer
Memory came back... NA's do not have a MAF, however they do have an AIT (Air Intake Temperature sensor) just behind the filter, but in my experience it does next to nothing. Obviously it's best to have it plugged into the airflow, but I don't expect you'd see too many problems without it. If you have idle issues have a search in tech for ICV cleaning
