Rookey
Hey all, I recently started a new job, and the question has come up about marketing... I'm just curious as to how many people still use the old school format of placing ads in magazines or papers etc or the new school way of pay per click stuff or advertising online? Which one is generally better or gets the most results? I've used AdWords, so have a pretty good understanding of it, but the new job has just peaked my curiosity! Tyson
depends on what your trying to sell and your target market, there's no point putting an ad for a new chocolate bar in a gym etc

Dave I am a marketing analyst and work as a senior consultant in London agency. Your question is not a simple one. Both types of marketing are effective in different contexts. The simple answer is to come up with a robust testing plan and test them out and see which ones work best for your desired objectives. Do you have analysts that can do this for you where you work? If your organisation does not have a plan like this in place, then the chances are you are losing money and not making the best use of your marketing budget. I can help you out in that respect
pedrosixfour
From a car biased point of view: I tend to advertise online, it seems to be the format of choice nowadays. But I still prefer to read the autotrader while I'm on the bog. I hope I have been of service.
Holden1989
Im a Senior telemarketer and account manager for a very succesful B2B telemarketing agency. We work for companies like Lloyds TSB and Legal & General. I find that telemarketing following a email or postal shot can be extremely effective, depending on who your target market is of course. marc_p
As Mikey said, it can completely vary depending on target market.
