Tyson
After the untimely demise of the saxo pimp wagon I have been looking for another car to run as my daily but as is sods law nothing is for sale within budget. Then a proton wira is up for sale within in budget just wondering if anyone knows anything about them? After a little research it has the Mitsubishi engine they use in the lancer and evo. Thanks. dive_popo
Proton wira ?? newer heard about it... any parts available for this ? I had a chineese bike once, and it died after 200 miles done.... I was trying to find any parts and since 2 years it is rusting around the house... Get a austin metro it would be simpler...

stevie_b
I was running around in a Persona in 1997 for about a year. Build quality wasn't great. They look like Ford Orions don't they? (or at least they did circa 14 years ago...)

jonathanc
I had one practically made in Malaysia and I'll say it was crap. For the money they are tons of other better cheap runarounds
Dnk
Whats your budget ? Surely theres something nicer than the Proton, not sure i could cope with anyone knowing i drove one of those even as a daily i didn't care about
heckler
could always go for the WRC version for the Wira...
Josh
Get a Fiesta. Mine's not missed a beat since I got it and even though I'm pretty much accelerating hard(ish) through the gears a lot, it's doing about 250 miles to a tank (£40 to fill). 62,000 miles, P reg, old lady's car. £795. stevie_b
I agree that there's better run arounds out there than a Persona. Josh's Fiesta shout was a good one: still very common cars so parts are easy to get hold of. We have a 1998 Fiesat that we're very pleased with. Fiesta, Corsa, Astra, Focus: all good runaround cars IMO.
