SupraAyf
An all-you-can eat Chinese restaurant in Durham was closed down a few weeks ago due to certain 'process' issues. Here goes: A man frequenting the restaurant one evening complained of a damaged tooth while consuming his meal, so he went to his dentist the next day once he awoke to find his teeth still giving him jip. The dentist had a poke around and pulled out a dog micro-chip from the man's broken tooth. By the nature of the info contained against the serial on the chip, the dentist was able to trace the offending object back to a family in the South of England which had only just had their loving family pet put to death through ill health. The health inspectors get involved and subsequently search the restaurant which turns up a total of 14 stripped dog carcasses hanging in the back of the Chinese restaurant in Durham. It seems that a number of veterinary establishments in the South 'had' held an animal disposal contract with a certain company which was allegedly supplying the Chinese with their food supply; unbeknown to the veterinary surgeries who thought all of the processes for the disposal of said animals was being conducted in the correct manner- clearly not. Anyone for King Prawn Curry and Egg Fried Rice - yum yum !! I have visited the restaurant on four occasions in the last 2 years and each time the food gave me a dodgy tum:blink:

SupraAyf
I would love to think of this incident as being a one off but I have a feeling that it isn't. It's late my time so I'm off to bed. I can't wait for my jam and toast in the morning.

Neil-NA
I' guessing BS. I had the EXACT same story told to me about our local Indian except it was about a cat. Heres hoping its not true though.

Josh
Did you know all "beef" at Big John's is actually horse meat? My Brother works with a guy whose Sister is a manager at one of the stores and she confirmed this as it's cheaper.
Lbm
My Brother works with a guy whose Sister is a manager at one of the stores and she confirmed this as it's cheaper. I love this kind of reporting. Yes of course it's probably true, but even so, in the 90's in Camden after a gig, certain individuals would come up to us and say: "Wow! You guys!! You guys are great! My brother knows a man who's cousin once bought a Goldfish from Roger Daltrey's sister who used to know the manager of another band who's drummer's ex-wife is now living next door to a record producer, who's son now on the look out to sign bands!" Sad thing is, we fell for it every time. Sort of.

China Man
Things like this give all Chinese a bad name. All dog meat must be sourced from reputable source or steal to order, not ill dogs where the meat is not fit for human consumption. j/k never tasted one in my life
Rob
Given that chicken and lamb of the lowest quality is incredily cheaply bought from wholesalers or cash'n'carrys, and comes pre boned, packaged and refrigerated, I can fully understand why the staff at a restaurant would prefer to spend all the early hours after a long shift roaming the streets to kidnap and kill dogs and cats. Havard
Was this the one one the corner in Durham high street? I am just thinking about taking my dog up there as I have been trying to get rid of him for years. (Just joking, I don't think it is the Chinese on the corner) H. Why bother when you can have a quick walk from your house to India Gate on the A6 as apparently they have been using cats
