supra steveo Posted July 2, 2011 Share Posted July 2, 2011 what type of grease are we ment to put on the brake pistons in the calipers ? i am having a bit of a problem with some sticking pistons not on my UKs but on carolines Jspec setup ive got some genral use yellow grease, and copper grease but i know that i dont use that on the pistons as it will wreck the seals Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
richarde7927 Posted July 2, 2011 Share Posted July 2, 2011 You should not really have to use any grease on the pistons , But if are going to us some go for the yellow stuff as like you say the copper grease will kill the seals . mattysupra Posted July 2, 2011 Share Posted July 2, 2011 If your pistons are sticking im afraid grease will not help. You need to remove the pistons from the calipers and clean them up as they must be corroded etc. Use some 800 grit wet + dry on them untill they are looking like new.
