RedM
Went to look at a J-spec Supra this morning. Very nice, minor cosmetic niggles aside. Inside the boot I noticed what looked like an oil leak. It seemed to be coming from under the plasticky trim over the wheel arches. We pulled them back a bit and there is an off-white pipe that vanishes into the body just behind the arches. We couldn't tell if it was oil or not but it felt dry and tacky. Obviously pics would help and its at times like these I kick myself for not getting a replacement digi camera sooner. Any ideas? Prof. Monkey
I know that this seems silly bit could it have been the petrol pipe? Equally there should be a breather pipe as well, I know that some J-Spec's have had some waxoiling when they come into the country, probably as a precaution to our mild, muggy winters and salt that reak havoc! Sorry I cany be of anymore assistance!
Ian C
Could it be the rear windscreen squirty pipe? -Ian
TrickTT
Was it an aero? they have drain tubes from the roof down the front and rear pillars
RedM
Pipe was very thin, like the tickness of a drinking straw. Not an aero. Could be the rear screen squirty. we assumed its destination was down in the body somewhere. Might be that it came from there. Having another look tomorrow evening.
