Getting Sky+ content on to a PC

Afternoon All,

I was hoping someone could provide me with some assistance. I have been looking up about how to get Sky+ video's onto a PC and the information out there can be quite sketchy. I thought I'd ask on here incase someone has already done this or knows of a way you can get it off fairly easily.

So far I understand you can do it in 2 ways.

1. Connect a DVD Recorder and then just record the content.

2. Use a TV card or external device like a Dazzle Video Creator.

This site I believe provides the easiest example but thought I'd put it out there to members.

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Thanks

Abz

I would just download the content off the web.

Thing is we need to record the live coverage of the whole day event & not the edited footage which is normally uploaded afterwards.

This is the Formula 1 event taking place next week, which is being aired on BBC.

Abz, I use a HD recorder that I have rigged to my TV, It has a DVD burner on it also. So you can record the stuff live from tv on to either the hard drive or straight to DVD. Once its on the DVD you can easily play it on your PC or even edit it.

It might be a bit much to go out and buy one though just for one TV programme

This is the one I have but with a bigger drive: - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Philips-DVDR3300H-DVD-Recorder-80GB-Harddrive-MP3-/270775561636?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_DVDPlayers_Recorders&hash=item3f0b7b2da4

Hey Saq!

It is work related so they don't mind forking out for some kit, just wanted to see what the options were.

That does look idea rather than going the Sky+ route.

Or you can upload some *ahem "dodgy" firmware to the box, and enable the ethernet port, then either stream it to VLC, or drag the video files from the hard drive :)

Be interested to know how and where the software is available, been trying to find something to make the box network discoverable, sick of doing the real time file transfer, PM me if you can help:)
