black_widow87
Had an accident yesterday when i was trying to reverse out of a small pull in with a few shops. There was a great big white van parked on the corner of ther road overhanging by over a foot which made it very difficult to see. As i was creeping out into the road a car comes and hits me just infront of my left rear wheel. My door has been scuffed and side skirt has been cracked amd scuffed. Im absolutly devastated!! Edited July 1, 2011 by black_widow87 Wrong description (rear LEFT wheel not front) left (see edit history)

Yes i was creeping out into the road as i couldnt see clearly round this van that was parked on the pavement overhanging the road. Just on of those things. Only just got the bleedin thing back on the road which is the most annoying part.

Scott
No i was reversing out. They t-boned me. Ahh, when you said they hit your front wheel I assumed you were edging out frontwards. So are you saying you were all the way out onto the road and they hit the front wheel of your car? If that is the case I would be claiming them for fault. Havard
Techically your fault but actually theirs if you were stationary and they were not paying attention. The fact that you were making the manouvre will go against you. H.
Westy
Looks cosmetic but still wont be a cheap fix!? Sounds like the insurance will hold you responsible from your description of events.

I was over half way across the road when they hit, bearing in mind the van was hanging over the road about a foot!
Scott
Sorry i meant to say rear left wheel mate. I was over half way across the road when they hit, bearing in mind the van was hanging over the road about a foot! Still, either you pulled out quicker than you are letting on or half of your car was clearly visible for some time before they hit you. If I was driving down the road and I saw 1/2 a car sticking out of a road I would slow down... not drive into it. The only way I would drive into it would be if it pulled out in an unsafe manor leaving me no time to see it/stop. If you pulled out quicker than you are letting on then you are in the wrong. If you were already on the road and they drove into you, then they are at fault.
black_widow87
I was definately creeping out. At end of there day its going to be my word against theres as there are no witness's. Im more gutted with the fact that iv just got my car back on the road, then something like this happens. Its just one of those things and my main concern is just getting it sorted. I really hope its not a long winded process.
richarde7927
From the looks of the pictures the 1/4 panel is dented in as the door sticks out from the 1/4 panel . as others have said mate if you are making a move into the road they will put the blame on you sorry to say . Rich.
