DodgyRog
Well as some of you will remember, my wife used to sell sunglasses at our local car boot and due to the ridiculous Trading laws in this country, she had to stop Anyway, we still have 400 plus pairs sat in our spare room and Jen decided it was time to get rid as they are just taking up space. So she cut her losses and listed them on Ebay with no reserve and decided to just let the auction run and we get what we get Well the auction ended on Sunday evening at £200, so we contacted the highest bidder, asking him to contact us to organise collection. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220802119552&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT We heard nothing back for a couple of days, so my wife messaged again politely asking could he just contact us to give us an idea what his plans were We have clearly stated that collection is the only option unless they live reasonably close and I will deliver if pre-agreed and fuel costs covered This is the message we got back Dear jenandrog1999, i am ever so sorry i have been away working. when i won the listing i thoughtthat you lived in derby as i live in skegness. could you possibly find out a price to post them to me and i will pay extra many thanks gavin - skegvegas2010 So my wife politely responded, saying they were collection only as clearly stated and that we don't have the time to take them to a courier to get a price (also remember this is 4 possibly 5 very large boxes) and we got this message back Dear jenandrog1999, i have tried to be reasonable i am not making a 5 hour journey to pick up 400 pairs of glasses. knock yourself out and report me your loss my gain - skegvegas2010 and also to rub salt in the wound the cheeky git (trying not to swear here) left this feedback item not as described every pair scratched not fit for re sale Buyer: Member ID skegvegas2010 ( Feedback score of 24) 30-Jun-11 17:27 Wholesale Sports & Fashion Sunglasses All New (#220802119552) £200.00 View Item Wholesale Sports & Fashion Sunglasses All New Sorry I know this is quite a long rant, but I am really ANNOYED Right so I get on the phone to Ebay, to try and get the Feedback removed and sort out about fees etc First problem I get is I get someone that speaks poor English, so ask for someone that can at least understand me without me having to repeat everything. So I now have someone with an Asian accent, but they do speak reasonable English, so I explain the Feedback problem, to be told I can't do anyhing about that at this point and get told to raise a none payment case, which then gives the buyer 4 days to respond, now am I being stupid here, but he sent a message stating he had no intention of collecting and also slagged the said items off in feedback. Surely this is a cut and dry case, do we really need to wait 4 days. Anyway then I get onto the money part and they tell me I will be refunded the transaction fee (which is the percentage they take off the final amount sold for), but this won't be refunded until upto 30 days after the case is resolved. At which point I ask how they can be refunding something they should not of taken yet as the sale has not been completed, I get a response of, it is taken immediately at the end of auction. I then ask if they can take it so fast why does it take so long to refund. I just get that is how long it takes line. So not very happy still, but I asked about the insertion fees and can I be refunded these also, as the sale will not be completed through the negligence of an Ebay member, to which I get a flat No, as insertion fees are none refundable. Well I don't like flat No's So I get a bit annoyed again and start pointing out if they want to hide behind there terms and conditions then I would like to bring up the one that states " All Bids are legally binding " so could they take the £200 for the Buyers account, at which point the guy on the other end goes into a panic mode and starts quoting the terms and condition for insertin fees, I wait patiently letting him say his piece and not uttering a word, then he stops and I still say nothing. At which point he says Mr. Clarke are you still there and I say yes have you finished reading yet, he didn't really no what to say at this point, so I decided to ask again if he could get me the £200 from the buyers account as it is in there words "a legally binding bid", he then stuters a bit and says can you hold for me Well a few minutes pass and to be honest I think he was hoping I might hang up, but I am a stubborn old git He eventually comes back and says, do you mind holding for another few minutes, I am trying to talk to a manager, so I say fine, but not to long as the call is not free Well another couple of minutes go by and he returns and says " I am sorry I can not discuss this with you any further as it's not your name on the account, but we will refund the insertion fee when your wife calls us So it is now left with us having Negative Feedback for the next couple of weeks and this jerk being able to continue trading and possibly messing someone else around. Also we will be out of pocket until Ebay see fit to refund us the transaction fee and we have know sale as the 2nd highest bidder has spent the money on something else In conclusion I will never sell anything on Ebay again, the system is totally weighted to the Buyer and obviously to make Ebay money even when they don't do there part Also just to rub it in, the Buyer will get a temporary ban for none completion maybe, what about the abusing of the feedback system and then will be able to carry on as if nothing happened, not even negative feedback for him This is still all up in the air as the buyer has the right to respond of course and to be honest I would not be surprised if they believe he travelled to get them and they were "item not as described every pair scratched not fit for re sale" as he put it, even though he clearly states in his message he can't travel a 5 hour journey to collect them Sorry for the long RANT, but this sort of thing really gets my goat and is just typical of the way so many people think it is okay to act in theis country now, God I so hate people like this
AlexJames
Ah man that sucks! I can understand why your so annoyed! Iv had a few such things happen to me in the past and ebay are really reluctant to change feedback!
Guigsy
Use another account. Buy something he is selling. When he sends it it will prob have a return address. Or tell him you will pick it up and get his address. When it arrives leave negative feedback. Wrap up every pair of glasses individually. Put fragile tape on it but make it big enough to put in the postbox if you force it. Don't put enough postage on. Post a pair every 2 days or so. He will have to collect it and pay for the privilege every few days. If your lucky and gives up picking them up he might even get fined. The-Plethora
I would be as vindictive as Guigsy says, new account and watch and see if he sells anything. Ebay is not a place to auction anymore, as you say the buyer gets everything, the fees are stupidly high. Only bulk sale buy it now items that are low cost seem worth it now. I would start saving up a nice collection of 'perfectly formed stools' to post to him.
DodgyRog
I quite like the idea of sending him a empty envelope every few days with no stamp I guess I could ask forum members to send an envelope each with no stamp, it would put a big smile on my face, to think he was getting 50 empty envelopes with no stamp lol This has been said with tongue in cheek, before I get the a slap for putting up a request for members to do such an awful thing to such an upstanding member of the wonderful Island we live so happily in

Ebay are a shower tbh I pretty much only buy from them now. Selling is just expensive hassle, and there seems to be a growing number of people that claim not to recive the item then try and claim the money back. Josh
PM his address to everyone and I'll send him some "gifts" too That sucks, I can't stand idiots like this, especially leaving negative feedback just because he messed up and didn't want to pay!
