imi
Yes, but you then need to keep those folders the same or it will want to sync with them. I'll use the same example as I did previously with regards to photos. The folder I have for pictures of my daughter contains 50gb of pictures. Clearly I don't want to sync all of these pictures, I only want a select few (100 or so tops). On any other device bar the iPad I can select the photos I wish and copy them to my device. With the iPad I have no option to do this, I have to... Apologies Scott, perhaps I dont follow. In my case I have over 200 events in my photos folder and I choose the last 10 events to sync up with my iphone and ipad. I dont need to create separate folders so not sure why you need to create them. the same applies to Music too. Movies - unless you buy movies from Itunes (app store) where they are in the correct format for the iphone and ipad, transcoding will be required. imi

I haven't updated my iTunes for a few months so maybe something has changed? Here is what I have.... As you can see I can choose a main location to sync with and I can then choose either all folders inside that main location or individual folders inside that location. I don't have any option of selecting individual photos.
ScottC
iPhoto organises photos into events, you won't have that option if you're using a pc. I don't have any option of selecting individual photos. There isn't one. You would have to have that one photo in it's own folder and then sync. Scott
Thank you Just in case you didn't catch on.... the reason for my WTF face was that my whole argument against the i-anything is based on the fact that just about every other phone is drag and drop and how simple it is to do. Then you come along and ask how to do it This is how to transfer everything to anything/anywhere on the Galaxy SII Step 1, Press Menu, Settings, Wireless & Network, USB Utilities, Connect storage to PC Step 2, Plug phone into PC via USB cable Step 3, Open up destination via My Computer (Can either be phone or memory card), and select folder you wish to put it in (I would create a new one "Movies" or something like that). Step 4, Drag and drop video/movie/whatever into folder of choice. Step 5, Unplug Surprised you struggled with it to be honest
Abz
Battery life. Any tips on improving it? At the moment it is only lasting a day with about an average of 30 mins calls a day. Using a bit of whatsapp & Facebook. I have got rid of that task killer as you mentioned. Bluetooth, wireless & GPS is off too. Maybe faulty battery? The battery needs some excercise lol. After a couple of weeks of running it out daily and charging it nightly it just started to last longer and longer. I just make sure I fully cycle the battery by letting it die completely. The battery can also be calibrated which can help with battery life. Mine lasts 2 days now quite comfortably, the only time I don't get more than a day out of it is when I use wifi hotspot. My bluetooth is on constantly also. Abz if you haven't done it already, you can take your screen brightness off AUTO. So go to: Settings >>> Display >>> Brightness...and reduce it manually. The screen brightness is one of the more draining things on the phone. To check, go to: Settings >>> About phone >>> Battery Usage
Thorin
Check in "accounts & sync" settings and disable anything you don't want/need syncing. Same goes for any apps you might have installed, personally most things I'm not bothered about them auto syncing and prefer to just update when I open the app, but many apps have updates etc. auto enabled. Thorin
I can't say I've found live wallpaper to drain the battery any more, it's not running whenever the screen is off or you're running some other app so the actual time it's doing anything is minimal. I guess some might be worse than others though.
Graham S
Just to bump this again. Just stumbled uppon this. If someone can put it direct on here that may help but it seems to put everything thats been talked about and more all into one video. Didn't know you could adjust screen brightness by swiping the top of the screen left or right!

Noz
Guys, wondering if anyone knows of any software to control the phone through the computer. With my old HTC I used to use Mymobile and use activesync and it would just pop up, I can't find any software for the Andiod. Any ideas,
Scott
Do you mean full control, ie making calls etc, or just to access the phone, send messages etc? If it's the latter then Kies air does exactly that. Enable Kies air on your phone, select either wireless hotspot or wireless mode (hotspot if you want to connect adhoc, wireless mode if you are through a router) then simply type the 192.xxx.xxx.x address into the address bar and you will be able to connect to it and send messages etc.
