Clarkey
Don't think its wise just replacing turbo #2 with a second-hand one. I'd consider getting both of your turbos reconn-ed into Hybrids. Or SINGLE.

Guest dee_rz
gonna do the big single thing next year, things for the house are dominating my spending so just jspecs will do till then. did'nt run high boost myself 1.0 bar whoever had it before me ran it at 1.3 so i think the damage was probably already done while in his hands, he had the standard turbos refurbed before i bought it at a company (have receipts for) and they sorted number 1, that when before and they ok'd number 2, but then running 1.3 which the guy who had the car before me did must have pushed that little ceramic piece of shit too much. was driving the car as per usual threw gears and notice smoke from the exhaust and tried nailing the car threw one gear again and no2 did'nt come online smoke now pouring from the exhaust i pull over turn the engine off and saw the pieces of turbo in the back of the exhaust (thank god it did'nt get into the engine). Guest dee_rz
so i think one should be alright, but in saying that it's probably worth getting two as there knock around for very cheap and there usually in pair too. so anybody got any
Clarkey
Why is that? I personally wouldn't. Because you don't know 100% what condition the turbo(s) is in .. and what boost they've been running. From what I've read .. Removing the stock turbo's and refitting them is time-consuming and a ball-ache. If the 2nd hand ones do blow - then you've got to take them off the car again, get them reconn-ed .. then put them back on again. Ash Willis put some 2nd hand turbos on his car, they didn't last long. Imho - it's better to get them reconn-ed.
