TubbyTwo
Good luck getting it sorted mate, good to meet you as well.
michel lane
I dont think the box was weak , you have to consider the amount of power that you have put through it these past several months, these units were built to hold power levels of 600-650hp , running the amount of power you have on your car will not provide reliability with any uprated autoboxs unless you run a powerglide. Having a stock box with your boost level even at low boost would kill the plates. I suggest you look at a manual conversion if you wish to retain that sort of power or a 2sp powerglide setup. JamieP
Dont lose the supra love mate, hard when things like this happen i know. Got a nice 6 speed NA sat here, rape the box and break the car to get some money back Thinking about it, you could even put a 5speed box back in it and get most of your money back on the car id say, just an idea mate. Jamesy
Dont lose the supra love mate, hard when things like this happen i know. Got a nice 6 speed NA sat here, rape the box and break the car to get some money back Just bloody one MAJOR thing after another, especially for the "nice" way i treat and drive the car Funny you should say that as i completely lost the love sat @ 3pm and even sat in the car, holding back the tears, pricing up all the parts ready to break it and let the vultures loose - actually came out at quite alot of money but then i got out and looked at it and thought i cant do it. Nice idea about yours mate , i will drop you a pm

To be honest mate i may be running a lot of power and torque but i drive it very soft throughout the week, with the odd blast - it isnt being raced and abused. I bought the box off CK, so maybe its already had a fairly tough life of drag racing before i even started - i cant believe BL would build these "drag" boxes to only handle 3 low boost passes People in the US are running mid 9's with this box too
jimojameso
Sorry to read this mate. You should definitely stick a 6-speed back in though mate. If any pop up i'll forward the details over to you.
hodge
Dont lose the love mate. keep your chin up. Weve all been there and crawled out the other side. Shut the garage door for a few days and dont even go look at it. Some sort of answer will present itself it always does. if theres any way I can help out just ask bud. Personally I think you should be looking down the 6 speed route unless your prepared to live with a powerglide drag box. good luck mate, im sure between you and lee it will be back together in a crack. Jamesy
Thanks guys - 6 speed would obviously be ideal but the cost of it, plus a decent supporting clutch makes it a non starter. Think we just gonna stick a stock TT box in for winter and save up for the rebuilt BL box, with an uprated clutch and sprag for good measure. Stonkin
Sorry to hear your grief mate, really am. Hope you get it back together and enjoying it again soon, chin up mate.
Geo
Gutted for you bud, could tell you were pretty much pee'd off when we went for it a 2nd time. Time for a 6 speed, only real drivers use those mind, save up get it repaired or replaced and feel the love once again. P.s next year its me and you again, 1 win each mind. Jamesy
Thanks a lot guys I would love to go 6spd but its a definite non starter due to the costs involved. Will get my BL box uprated with Lee's specialist autobox man (also worked on Dudes in past). I have now simered a bit and have gone off the idea of breaking it for parts which is definite progress to the way i felt 48hrs ago!!! Mark, have sent you a pm mate
