natony
Please go easy on me. i really want to get back in a supra but i can't afford a turbo and it will be my daily drive and i do quite a few miles a week so i need something economical, which a supra isn't ive had to give up on a kit car ive been building and as a result im left with an engine and gearbox would it be wrong to put a f20c S2000 engine in a supra Edited June 30, 2011 by Gaz6002 (see edit history)

Gaz6002
It really wouldn't be that great IMO.
DuaneT.Turbo
Wouldnt that engine lack torque for such a car as the Supra?
Guigsy
well if its anywhere near 200bhp then thats na supra power. but i always thaught the s2000 engines were low on torque anyway :S
dr_jekyll
power is irelivant , its the torque or lack of it that will make is rubbish

l33wgn
put the engine in a old mini, that would be fun / interesting!!
natony
Supra non turbo 220 horsepower and 169 lb·ft (229 N·m) of torque S2000 247 horsepower and 161 lb·ft (218 N·m) of torque so not that different really

Havard
Plus it would look gay....!!

Abz
You'd be better off selling the S2000 engine & Gearbox & putting that towards an LPG conversion on a NA Supra. For what you have described, this will be the most sensible route. I love Supra's but if I was doing a lot of miles daily, I wouldn't be doing in my Supra. Josh
Get a diesel. Remap it. Save up for a TT
NathWraith
I thought the NA had 200ish lb·ft of torque?
Gaz6002
I've tweaked the thread title so it can be searched for by other members who have such ridiculous ideas
Guigsy
The cost and trouble of getting it to work mechanical wise and the wireing would be high. And end up with a slower car than what you started with.
Thorin
The S2000 isn't exactly that economical either, why go to all the hassle and expense of fitting an S2000 engine into a Supra only to save a few pence? I'll go easy on you though, as you obviously have mental issues...
SamuraiFlash
I agree with Abz, sell the S2000 engine and gearbox and invest in a LPG conversion

alex2jz
I thought the NA had 200ish lb·ft of torque? The Supra NA has 213 ft/lb so about 290 NM! Considerably more than the S2000.
TubbyTwo
If it was me I would jsut save hard until you had the funds to get a tidy TT if thats your ultimate goal. You wont be happy with anything else.
j_jza80
The s2000 engine and gearbox wouldmake for a great conversion on an RX7
