Robzki
Hi all, While sitting still with the car in neutral I hit a rev limiter at 5700rpm, I've not really given the car a hard life and not one for revving the hell out of it while sitting still So can't really say whether this is a new thing, a fault its always had or just the rev limit its meant to have? Its a jpec auto, double decat, catback, fmic, cooler plugs, walbro etc etc thanks Rob
Guest ugp
no idea about a tt, but my NA used to wack off the limiter all day long in neutral.
Robzki
no idea about a tt, but my NA used to wack off the limiter all day long in neutral. LOL, but what was the limit? My redline is 7kish but hits a limiter of sorts at 5800rpm normal?
sams
Im sure mine has a similar limit when in neutral i assumed it a safety feature. Or a very crude launch control if you bang it into drive but i dnt reconmend this at all
Guest ugp
7 ish. Then with the mines ecu was 8.2. didnt change whether it was in drive, park, neutral etc.
Guest ugp
Or a very crude launch control if you bang it into drive but i dnt reconmend this at all - now that's what i would have done if mine did that!
Swampy442
Its a known feature on the auto TTs, one thing you have to overcome when you go manual Quite why you want to redline your car in neutral is beyond me though.
CanisLupus
Don't manuals have the same? Mine did the same thing when i revved it for a DB test oO

Guest ugp
It would appear this is TT Auto's only. Just met up with two friends who have NA auto's and theirs do the same as mine did, hit the limiter in neutral. Good for exhaust clips
Robzki
Thanks all, I don't want to redline in neutral. I think it was the first time in 3 years that I have been near the redline, I change at 5-5500rpm in manu I guess. I'm a sympathetic driver I'm thinking about getting on a local dyno so was just checking 'stuff' Its nice to know its normal and I won't have to try it again.
