Help with Single Install

Recommended Posts

Hi I was cleaning my engine bay today and I noticed that I have a hose that is connected at one end but it is not connected at the other. There is a pipe that it can connect ot but I dont want to do this until I am sure it should be on there.

Unfortunately I did not carryout the install so I am not sure if this should be connected on a single install. I have attached some ppitctures, you will see the one end of the hose connected, and you will see a pipe next to this where the the other end of the hose could connect.

Can someone please tell me what this is and should I connect the pipe. I am not sure if this is just a part of the old sequential system and is now redudant. The area is at the back of the engine bay down the left hand side as you look at it. Someone please help, pictures below

The silicone pipe is coming off one of the small metal pipes (see pictures above) looking at your explanation, this would then lead to the sequential turbos. I didnt know if the loose end had to be connected to the other small metal pipe to act as a return.

hope this makes sense, hopefully someone with a single install will be able to check on there install and confirm

It won't matter if it's not connected or capped off because the pressure tank isn't used anymore, it's just tidier and looks more professional.

I gotta a couple questions and thought they were similar to this thread so I copied/pasted from my Cressida forum.

hey guys, I need you help with identifying some 2JZGTE wiring and components. I just need to know if I can ditch some of this or is it necessary for the motor (yes I will look at the mk4 tsrm too). I needs your help

This one is kind of a tough one since it has been cut .. . thanks venus-auto

This next one looks like it is a part of the sequential/VSV/actuator mess .. . I am hoping that I can just toss it. I remember seeing any of these wiring looms hanging off side.

Here's more suspected VSV/Actuator junk. I looped it off, but can I just ditch the can on the left????

Here, I am wondering what to use to cap this giant tub off with cuz I don't think I can loop it anywhere. It seem to be a part that is on the 1jz as well. Actually I am wonder what people are capping water and vac lines off with?

This is a what am I thing for the MK3 R154 . . . so yeah what are these 2 things, what do they do, and do I need them?

This is a where should it go . . . suggestions???

Thanks guys. I will be reading up on the diagrams and manuals soon enough. These are just some loose ends that need to be tied up before the motor goes in its home.

Cheers

Pic 1 - don't know

Pic 2 - One of those is the wastegate VSV, three are sequential system, if you are going single turbo then junk them.

Pic 3 - Pressure tank, sequential system stuff, you can junk it all if going single.

Pic 4 - That's the idle control valve. If you block it off your car won't start or idle :) It needs a filtered air input, most single conversions switch it to a smalle K&N filter.

Pic 5 - Speed sensor and something else, possibly reverse light switch? Not so sure.

Hope that helps, any more questions please start a thread up in Non-Supra Technical and you'll get some good responses I'm sure

Very cool. Thank you.

I took all of it off that I could. Removing that tank free up a lot of space for messing with the starter . . . I need all the space that I can get with the LHD steering on that side as well.

One of the tranny wires was connected to a thing that said skid control . . . I guess that I should have looked a little closer

#4-- I will check out some pics on some conversions.

I will post in the appropiate forum nextime.

Cheers
