sideexitsupra
As bizarre as it sounds it seems that Mazda are looking at using compact, high power lasers in place of spark plugs on their next generation rotary engine! If it was the beginning of April I would have taken it as a joke but it is there in black and White in this weeks Autocar.
Ian C
Makes perfect sense, power and duration of the ignition point is incredibly precisely controlled. I guess the hard part was making them durable in such a hostile environment. I wonder if you can retrofit them

Guigsy
It was in the news 3-4 months ago I guess you can run higher rpm safer as the ignition is more precise?
