I'll make this advert brief, if anyone is interested please get in touch. Price is negotiable, however I'm looking for around £40,000. If your reading this advert then chances are, you will know how special this guitar is. Although not the more desirable 1955 model, its a late 1954 (serial number & validation report available on request), and its considerably cheaper (some go for £60,000. There are very minor marks on the body, however this guitar is 57 years old.

This guitar is my pride and joy, very reluctant sale, however due to a new business venture, needs must.

Apologies about the crappy photo's, I'm away at the moment and don't have access to take new ones. These were taken around April time this year.

Just to be clear, you're saying you'd like forty thousand pounds?

Yes, thats right. See link below for a (slightly out of date) price guide. Prices have gone up approx 10% since.

Edit:

Also, here is a 1956 model on ebay for a fiver short of £50k. This being a late 54 is worth less.

considering that some sale threads here off late seem to fall through over two pounds this should make for an interesting sale thread.

BTW: the guitar looks gorgeous.

Yeh I've noticed, its advertised on various classic guitar forums too, had lots of interest, but I thought I would post it up on here also.

Is it 100% original? I would get onto the Gibsoncustom and Les Paul forum (if you haven't already), would attract the right crowd :)

I'll mention it in work tomorrow (work in a guitar shop) and see if the boss is interested ;)

Yep, original strings as well. The whole thing (bar a few small marks) is as it were in 1954. I have the receipt (for £210) also.

Now sold, thanks for all the interest and positive comments. Bit of a sad day for me, I've wanted one of these ever since I was a kid, priorities change I suppose!

Priorities do change :( but on another note do you need an assistant to teach whatever you do for a job as I would like to have 40k to spend on a guitar ;)

I don't have a job ;)
