Black_Supra
Hey Guys, when i bought my Supra i got a 180 KMH Tacho (JSPEC). But it was already built in a KMH/MPH converter. In Germany arrived i changed the 180 KMH Disc(in that case it counts Miles cause of the converter) through a 300 KMH Disc. This year on the german Autobahn i testet top Speed and following happened: At 180 KMH, the Speedo Mark rise not further, maybe just a little bit until 190 KMH but i was much faster! At the end of the 5th Gear (V160) on 7000 RPM the speed showed round about 180/190 KMH and then fall down to 0 KMH and it not raise up again. Under 100 KMH it startet again to count. I thougth that was just a chance but i testet it again. At 7000 RPM 5 Gear the Speedo went to 0 and under 100 KMH it startet to count again. What i can do? I put off the Speedocluster and the Speedo-Disc got a KMH/MPH Converter (small black box with a red point) with 3 lines to the speedo, 1 or 2 lines to the ODOMETER and 1 line to the cable loom of the car. I want that the car drives for example 260 KMH and i can read it from the speedo. What i can do ? Black_Supra
I think its this Converter here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=62114&d=1186620115
Nic
Most likely either a fault with the convertor or a loose wire. I'd check the wiring, remove the convertor and test again to see if it does the same thing.
Black_Supra
On the converter is a sticker, it says: CK-DU-99 Red: 12v Green: Earth Yellow: KMH Signal Input Blue: Speedo Grey: ECU 5 cables: Red, Green and Blue go to the Speedometer. Yellow cable goes to cable loom of the Speedo On the blue cable of the Speedo is a second black cable that goes to the ODOMETER (1 oem cable is cutted, the side to the ODOMETER is connected with this black cable) The grey cables goes to the wiring loom of the ODOMETER, to the other side of the cutted cable (not odometer side)
