NathWraith
Hi guys, Just been looking on autobulbs direct and there is alot of LED "bulbs" you can get instead of standard bulbs for the Supra. Providing they are the same fitment (380 & 382 rear) they should fit and work no problem. I know LEDs use less power than standard bulbs but considering the Supra is an older car it shouldn't throw up any issues? Lastly anyone got any pics of said bulbs fitted or are they just too bright for road use. Bulbs in question Rear fog & indicator 382 http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/382-24-LED-Bulbs-available-in-white-red-blue-green-amber.html?bulb_search=c25346 Rear brake lights 380 http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/380-24-LED-Bulbs-available-in-white-red-amber.html?bulb_search=c25346 If I am making any noob mistakes by getting these then please tell me! Thanks in advance!

suprasurrey
The rear fog lights and brake lights should be alright, but the indicators could be a problem. The flasher relay is set up to work on a specific current draw, and going from 21watts to 1 watt may slow the flash rate or stop it althogether. heckler
Ah I see. So a resister would have to be used I guess? You might be ok, as I "think" the led replacement bulbs take the resistor into account, but don't quote me on that!
SteveC
I tried some that looked very similar to those in the link. The light output was very poor compared to the standard bulbs, so I ended up putting those back.
Digsy
LEDs bulbs are very bright when viewed from up to approx 20 degrees from directly behind the car. Anything at more of an angle than that (with those style bulbs) will not see much light at all. I think these type of rear bulbs are pretty unsafe for that reason - especially for indicators). You can get special bulbs with LED elements pointing in different directions to overcome this issue, but I suspect they might cost a bit more.
