hodge
We have just done a MX5 Turbo conversion for a guy who is 10th dan in 4 martial arts, I was quite impressed !!!!! Bloody hell John, how old was he??? If say he started training at 10 years old the minimum age he could reach 10th Dan would be 68. But in 4 martial arts. That's interesting!!! I have a black belt, and before that i had a blue one, and before that i had a yellow one, and before that...... my trousers fell down, Read back a few posts bud, your a little late with the belt jokes. And don't you think wearing a yellow belt with your trousers is a little Timmy Mallet???

dude
I was talking to this guy the other night by e.mail and he said he was going to a ceromony or something as he had been made an honorary grandmaster. He teaches Martial Arts for a living and seems to do pretty well at it, he teaches Karate, Okinawan TE, Kobudo and Tai Chi.

A lot of people take things up, half heartedly do whatever it is, then the fad wears off but that shows real dedication to stick with it for so many years and to try and be the best you can be, well done

AndrewOW
I'm a black belt in Origami, and even after all those paper cuts it's been thoroughly worth it. Unfortunately, I've now run out of paper. Congratulations on your achievement. I tried karate once, and after aching for a week after, I decided it wasn't for me!

k9l3
I started shotokan karate at the age of ten, and passing my 1st Dan black belt when I was 14. Now I'm 36 and was awarded my 5th Dan by the EKF (English Karate Federation) a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing how time just flies by. 26 years I've Been training now it's hard it believe really. It's been a bumpy ride along the way. It's taken me all over the world and I've met some amazing and very talented people along the way and wouldn't change any of it for the world. Think I'm having a sentimental moment here and thought I'd share it with all of you. Thanks John. hi mate just to say me and my dad use to do shotokan I finished at brown white stripe my dad has had his black belt for about 10 years now. its a nice karate style to do. very traditional. we both got bit lazy and didn't carry it on sadly . afford we move to sheep land we use to train in edmoton .
