RobD
I've found this diff that I bought many moons ago which I thought was a standard TT Auto diff, had the cover off today but it looks like it's internals isn't OEM! Can anyone confirm it is OEM or an aftermarket setup please, and how much do you think it's worth?! It looks brand spanking new inside... Thanks

RobD
Yeah it is totally different! Any idea how much it'll be worth? £400??
Chris Wilson
Looks like a Kaaz LSD unit, some have 1.5 way ramps, some 2 way (for drifting), some can be built up in either format. It's not a Cusco, and it's not a TRD. I would need to see it from another angle to be sure. Kaaz are low end and can make horrible judders and bangs without adding loads of oil additive, but are fairly effective. Certainly far more effective than the OE optional Torsen type, and more aggressively plated than a TRD.

Thanks for the reply Mr W, I'll get some more pics from different angles and see what you think! If it is a Kaaz LSD how much would it be worth do you think? Chris Wilson
As a complete assembly in the casing about £500 I suppose. I am sure one of the Jap importing sites will have a price for the LSD bit. I need to see into this end:

Chris Wilson
90% sure it's a Kaaz one, This is a photo of a Kaaz one in a Skyline diff I did for someone.

RobD
Update on this, manage to find a buyer tonight, after delivering it the buyer replies saying it has a NA Crown gear and pinion, unknown to me obviously! Does the casing look like an NA auto diff? I'm pretty stuck at what to do with this now as I haven't got a clue what's inside! I would send it to you Chris but it would cost me a fortune just getting it to you and back Anyone near me that can take a look over it and tell me exactly what I've got before I re-sell? Thanks
Homer
The casings are the same on all diffs except the pre-facelift 6spd. The Crown wheels are changeable, but it may well be an NA one. Measure the diameter of the crown wheel (accurately) and count the teeth on the pinion to confirm
RobD
Thanks Homer I'll give it a try!
Chris Wilson
http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/153162-kaaz-2way-lsd.html Now 98% sure it's a Kaaz, free bump
RobD
Thanks Chris, it's now sold! Had a problem with it turning out to be an NA crown etc but the buyer has bought an LS400 diff I think it was that sorted the ratio just fine Thanks for your help Mr.W, great advice/help as always
