sound proofing removal

i've jus bought a blitz dump valve for my j-spec TT6 and it's working well, but my problem is that once i shut the bonet the sound proofing under there is making it really quiet so it's hardly noticeable. my alarm is under there aswell and because of this it too sounds quiet when it goes off. Is it advisable to remove the sound proofing or has anyone else done it and found the engine noises then become too much without it? and is it a pain to refit if it does work or i change my mind? any help would be appreciated!!!!!! :thanks:

Yes, you can achieve a more chavtastic sound from a ricer dump valve by removing the sound proofing material from the underside of the bonnet. Obviously the engine noise will increase too. It's pretty straightforward to refit the soundproofing once you grow out of loud BOVs

HTH :D

ignore the old git above, he's just grumpy (pipe and slippers must have been chewed by his BIG dog!)

yeah the bonnet proofin is easy enough to remove, i took mine off half of it was torn and droopin anyway! think it's made the BOV too loud, deffo hear the engine a lot more too. i'm not too keen on the BOV sound, much prefer a wastegate "WHHOPPSSHHHH" (chav :D )
