Neil-NA
I have been looking at changing my reg for ages but never actually got round to buying one. There are so many different plates on different sites with vastly different prices its hard to know where to look, i have been through all the ones on the first 2 pages of google but just wanted to know if there is a 'special' site that has every single plate available? I thought the DVLA site might be best but it turns out maybe not. Thanks.
l33wgn
I got mine from the dvla they're probs the cheapest as alot of sites advertise the dvla's as their own and sell on at a profit

marcAB10
I just bought mine last month, the cheapest place I could find online was http://www.plates4less.com I also found it had the best search feature too.
Rob
All these companies seem to hold no stock at all. They buy in the plate when a punter places an order, which can lead to problems if the seller changes their mind, or the DVLA sell it to someone first. I would say if the DVLA have the plate you want, buy it from them. If a private company is offering a plate you want and the DVLA don't have it, then its already on a car and you could buy the details of the owner from the DVLA and approach them directly with a price over their quote and under the companies asking price. I just got quoted £400 from RegTransfers for a plate we have, but I bet they'll sell it for at least £600. When I bought my SUP plate from the DVLA for £250, most companies were asking £650 for the very same plate.
ellis
Same here - I've got P555 SUP ready to go on - £250 all in with DVLA which INCLUDES the VAT AND the £80 transfer fee to put it on the car. So doing the maths, it makes the plate about £140 - £150 - good price I thought.
