bullet_uk
when on my drive home tonight i had a run in with a boy in what i can only guess was his new bmw anyway i knew i had the edge and put my foot down anyway i looked down at the clock and i had hit the 110mph on the clock but yet the supe was still pulling like there was no tomorrow so my question is as the title what should be the top end

skippyboyo1
mine hits the limiter in 5th at 163mph,its been tweeked abit so im guessing a standard na will do 150mph no worrys.its a good strong engine with superb reliability!
Guigsy
my 5 speed got up to 140 on the speedo but it will have been over reading. an NA probably wont reach its theoretical top speed. and will take a very very very very long piece of road to get there. Suprakeith
I have had 150mph on the clock (guessing that be between 135 and 145 if honest) out of mine have also got 180 speedo in dash
j_jza80
Probably 140ish, but as said, that'll take ages. I wouldn't bother
Kirk
Depends on what you consider ages. Mine seems to want to keep going. My NA will hit 160+ speedo, which according to sat nav on all occasions ive done it, works out at 151mph
Scott
As above I reckon you will hit a true 150 and a speedo 160ish. Engine will need to be very healthy to hit those speeds though, with as many horses as Toyota first put in there. It'll take a helluva long road to do it on though, much like trying to hit 190 in a bpu. Downhill, with the wind at your back might take a little less time. Had the discussion before but I reckon the car will pull a reasonable 140.

preston7
If you drive at 1/2 revs in top gear then double it that will give your theoretical top speed, assuming that you can reach full revs in top gear and that the speedo is accurate. preston7
oh and on my NA, on my speedo I have been just past 145 before backing off, I havent however driven with a sat nav in yet so havn't had any way of checking how accurate my speedo is
jackso11
on an old air strip I got my old NA up to 148, doubt it would have gone much over that and taking into account how far out supras speedos are as standard it was probably 135mph or there abouts. Neil-NA
Using Homers calculator - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?225050-Supra-specific-gear-diff-ratio-and-tyre-size-calculator you can find the top speed in each gear using your tyre size, diff ratio, gearbox etc
AlexJames
on my bpu+ twinturbo i got 163mph...on a private road.... (gps speed, clock was well over 180 lol) Theoretically, what should a BPU+ supra top speed be?

(gps speed, clock was well over 180 lol) Theoretically, what should a BPU+ supra top speed be? You should be able to pull around 180 (true speed). If you have a full on 430hp bpu car you should get to around 190 on a long enough straight. Good luck finding one though.
AlexJames
Impressive, I ran out of road (and bravery) so had to slow... interesting to know it will hit that kinda speed!
dive_popo
I hit 185 mph with no problem on my bpu (stock wheels), speed is awesome but braking...... already tested my speedo with 2 diffrent gps and its ok
ilicos
I managed 156mph with my tom tom as guide. Milometer was showing 168+ W58 btw
