Scott
Has there been a recent update stopping this from being allowed? For some reason I can't put a link in a paragraph/line of it's own. It automatically defaults to the end of the previous line.
Attero
Is it the WYSIWYG editor? It seems very faulty right now.

Scott
Not sure why it's happening. I'm using IE in the work which is a very old version. But I noticed Simon (Caseys) appeared to have the same thing happen with him in a recent thread.http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?248555-Can-t-put-carriage-return-before-a-link-anymoreStill doing it for me? Scott
That's your answer. Only ever have issues with it on this forum though, garages still don't work for me but I accept that is because of it not being catered for. I guess this issue could be another of the same. As I say, it's just this forum I get the issues with (not that I'm on 100s lol). For now I guess when in work I'll need to be forgiven for writing everything in one paragraph Which reminds me, it isn't just links. It's carriage returns in general. Also I have to "open in new window" to get the edit button to work now. The quick editor never worked for me but if I clicked on it twice it would bring me into the full edit, now it does nothing so I need to right click and open it as described. mawby
You sure your works proxy/firewall isn't blocking some of the forum content? I can browse the site from my work fine, but if I try and reply the messages the post never makes it to the server. Very annoying.
Attero
I've known a number of forums to force their users to swap to anything other than IE (especially if it's IE7 or less). The auto-save is a draft thing. You can click a button under the editor to restore all the text from the last save point.
mawby
Just looking at the list of fixes in this new version... coincidence! Carriage Returns being added/removed on article save
mawby
Auto-Save: Imagine this scenario. You’ve sat down to write a blog entry or a really long reply to a thread. Like a mad composer, you are banging away on the keyboard typing away furiously; your words and ideas are flowing freely into the editor. In an unfortunate twist of cruel fate your foot kicks the power outlet and unplugs your computer. Your computer shuts down as you begin to panic – the panic slowly transforming into agonizing rage. Well, there is good news! The new CKEditor automatically backs up your work every 30 seconds (this is adjustable). You curse the skies, successfully reboot your computer and navigate back to the page where you were writing the content, click the “Restore Auto-Save” button and magically – your masterpiece is now restored. Nothing has been lost! That's the official blurb. I can sleep easier at night now thanks to auto-save.

Possibly but everything worked fine until upgrades were put in place. As an example I was on the forum yesterday (in work) and didn't have any problems. It only happened this morning. Same thing happened with the garage content, it was after the big upgrade due to the security alert that they went south on.

The one thing I've found which appears to taken longer / lock up sometimes (be it in IE, FF, Safari) is the 'Reply With Quote' sometimes takes a little while to generate the quote for reply to. Otherwise things look a little more... smooth/brushed today?

Scott
Just FYI when I first logged in this morning I don't think the new updates were in place. As you can see in this thread I was posting away quite merrily. It was around that time that the forum took a major slowdown and some links were failing to open, within 5-10 mins everything was right as rain again other than the carriage returns, edit button and the "todays posts" bit was added.
